RAC Rescue Helicopter
The RAC has been the naming rights sponsor of the State Emergency Rescue Helicopter since its inception in 2003.
During this time the service has undertaken more than 2000 missions and saved the lives of several hundred Western Australians.
The RAC Rescue helicopter flies critical care specialists to an emergency incident and then transports the injured directly to the hospital that will provide them with the best care.
The helicopter is on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week, every day of the year.
It has an operating range of 200km covering 90 per cent of the Western Australian population and can also be extended to cover regional areas, such as the Geraldton, Kalgoorlie and Albany.
The RAC Rescue helicopter is managed by FESA, funded by the State Government and RAC with CHC Helicopters providing the helicopter and flight crew and St Johns providing the paramedics.
