RAC Rescue 1 sponsorship renewed
08 March 2009
The RAC will continue its support for Western Australia’s only emergency service helicopter, RAC Rescue 1, committing to a further three year sponsorship agreement with the Fire and Emergency Services Authority (FESA).
RAC Chief Executive Officer Terry Agnew said the support provided by the RAC was part of its broader sponsorship strategy to promote safer communities in Western Australia.
"The RAC has been a long-term supporter of the RAC Rescue 1 helicopter and we are committed to continuing our support for FESA to help make Western Australia a safer place," Mr Agnew said.
“The values of the RAC are closely aligned with FESA and through this partnership we hope to achieve our common goals of reducing harm and improving community safety.”
FESA Chief Executive Officer Jo Harrison-Ward said RAC’s ongoing support of the service demonstrated both parties shared values.
"We're very pleased the RAC has renewed its sponsorship with FESA and we look forward to continuing to work with RAC to help the people of Western Australia when they need it most,” Ms Harrison-Ward said.
The RAC has been the principal sponsor of the RAC Rescue 1 emergency helicopter service since its inception in 2003.
During this time the service has undertaken more than 1400 missions and saved the lives of several hundred Western Australians.
RAC Rescue 1 flies critical care specialists direct to an incident and then transports the injured directly to the hospital that will provide them with the best care.
