Heavy rigid vehicle training
The RAC Driving Centre provides specialised courses for the transport sector. These courses are designed to assist in the prevention of avoidable vehicle crashes and incidents, improve safety in the workplace and enhance the skills of drivers.
Whether you need a licence to drive a truck, medium or heavy rigid vehicle, the RAC Driving Centre can assist you with your training needs.
The content of this course covers the following items:
Pre-trip inspection
Safe driving practices
Under bonnet checks
Air brake systems
Gear work
Cornering
Reversing
Hill climbs and descents
City driving
Hill parking
Vehicles: New manual truck suitable for open class.
Duration: 2 hours lessons.
Requirements:
Current HR learner’s permit (available from Licensing Centres).
Participant must have held a car licence for at least two years or
MR or LR licence for at least one year.
