Motorcycle learner lessons
Our learner rider program provides a full day of basic training to help you gain the confidence needed to go for your motorcycle licence test. Depending on your skill level, we can also provide you with individual lessons until you are ready.
This course provides a balanced combination of hands-on exercises which include defensive riding strategies and on-road riding. It is perfect for people who want to learn how to ride a motorcycle in a safe and secure environment.
The RAC Driving Centre will provide a motorcycle to train with, or you may bring your own.
Motorcycle learner lessons include:
- Motorcycle Riding Theory.
- Protective clothing.
- Bike maintenance tips.
- Practical training at the RAC Driving Centre.
- On-road training.
Requirements:
- You must have a learner’s permit to begin lessons. They can be obtained from any DPI Licensing Centre.
- Your own approved motorcycle helmet.
- Riding gear consisting of gloves, sturdy long-sleeved shirt, sturdy long pants, sturdy boots that fully enclose your feet.
- Minimum age is 17 years. A letter of consent from a parent or guardian is required if you are under 18 years old.
