To signify National Road Safety Week, we created the Road of Regret representing the heartbreaking outcomes of three car crashes to drive home the very real consequences of speeding.
The exhibition shows three potential aftermaths of a two-car crash – in the first, a motorist is travelling at the 50km/h speed limit and t-bones another car, resulting in minor injuries. In the second scenario, the motorist is travelling 10km/h over the limit, and the other driver suffers severe injuries. In the third, the motorist is speeding by 20km/h and the other driver does not survive.
RAC’s Road of Regret will be on display at Lakeside Joondalup from 5 - 8 May and Mandurah Forum from 9 - 12 May.
To further demonstrate how speed can impact the outcome of a crash, watch RAC Derby favourites, Andy Brayshaw and Tim Kelly, tackle speeding and the difference it can make.

RAC Arena lights up for road safety
5 - 12 May
RAC Arena will light up for road safety in May with the Yellow National Road Safety Week ribbon beaming from the building for the week. This will be a timely reminder to passing motorists to slow down for safer roads.

Cheers to the designated drivers at IBF Lightweight World Title

RAC will be providing free non-alcoholic drinks in the RAC Arena Local Lounge to fans attending the IBF Lightweight boxing event.
RAC members can enjoy complimentary water, soft drinks and zero alcohol beer. We encourage everyone to drink responsibly and drive responsibly.
WA's AFL clubs support road safety
4 and 10 May
Calling WA footy fans to join us at Optus stadium for the round 8 & 9 home games to commemorate the start and end of National Road Safety Week.
Fans can also participate in our road safety memory card challenge by scanning the QR from the stadium superscreens.
National Road Safety Week is an annual initiative established by the Safer Australian Roads and Highways (SARAH) Group, partnering road safety organisations and Government. The week highlights the impact of road trauma and ways to reduce it.

We want to reduce the rate of people killed and seriously injured on our roads and to do so, our top priorities for a safer WA are safer speeds limits, regional road safety upgrades and safer intersections.
