Young drivers will learn about the potentially dire consequences of texting while they’re behind the wheel in a new campaign launched by Surfing WA and RAC.

Since January 2016 the ‘No Txt No Wrecks’ campaign has been supported through RAC's sponsorship program, to help educate young drivers about the dangers of texting while behind the wheel.

Surfing WA CEO Mark Lane said partnering with us gave them the opportunity to promote important road safety messages to the many young people and their families who attend their events.

Following this successful 12 month campaign, Surfing WA has now teamed up with RAC Road Ready, our road safety program for high school students. Together, they’ll promote road safety messages and the #NoTxtNoWrecks message to the next generation of drivers.

Last year, 17 to 24 year olds accounted for 21 per cent of road fatalities despite only making up 11 per cent of the population. This continued partnership will assist Surfing WA in educating young drivers to help reduce the number of fatalities and serious injuries occurring on WA roads.

Lead by example. Safely store your phone away and out of reach while you’re driving and spread the word by using the hashtag #NoTxtNoWrecks on social media.
