Day 2: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
From the shopping delights of Robson Street to the lively energy of Granville Island Public Market, this city brings a unique European flair to Canada’s western coast. Survey it all from atop the Vancouver Lookout which offers a 360-degree view or Gastown, Coal Harbour, North Vancouver and the downtown Vancouver skyline.
Stay: The first of 10 Nights on our Expedition Vessel
Day 3: Canadian Inside Passage
Enjoy your day at sea. Rise with the sun and meet with friends in the restaurant of your choosing over breakfast. Or simply take in the view from the Observation deck with your favourite cocktail in hand. This day is yours to craft as you desire.
Day 4: Canadian Inside Passage
The Inside Passage is one of the world’s most beautiful cruising routes, with marine life including humpback, fin and killer whales, dolphins, porpoises, sea lions and all five species of salmon. The salmon rich waters provide nutrients to the lush coastal rainforest, which is habitat for the coastal brown bear, the black bear and if we are lucky enough to spot one, the spirit or Kermode bear.
Day 5: Ketchikan, Alaska
The adventure begins in Alaska’s “first city” of Ketchikan. Visit the historic totem village of Saxman where you will have a chance to stroll amongst towering totem poles learning the unique story behind each pole. One of the most popular things to see in Ketchikan is historic Creek Street, an antique boardwalk, home to restaurants and unique shops, which is suspended over a salmon stream.
Day 6: Misty Fjords, Alaska
Ocean Victory can deftly navigate the Revillagigedo Channel, transporting you directly to Misty Fjords National Monument Wilderness in great comfort. Be on deck to experience the soaring granite cliffs, glistening waterfalls while gliding quietly beneath the glacier-sculpted granite fjords of Rudyerd Bay. Our team will accompany you along the shoreline in Zodiacs and kayaks while searching for humpback whales, orcas, harbor seals, bears and other wildlife.
Day 7: Wrangell, Alaska
Spend a full day in picturesque Wrangell as you are welcomed by Alaskans whose ancestors have lived on this island for thousands of years. On your included tour, discover the history of how the Tlingit culture continues to thrive here. Visit Shakes Island with a local interpretive guide.
Day 8: Chatham Strait
Chatham Strait, is a narrow passage of the Alexander Archipelago, in the south eastern region of Alaska. The strait is deep, making humpback whale spotting from the outer decks a fun activity. You can select from both indoor and on-deck observation perspectives aboard Ocean Victory, or if you prefer to be up-close, at the water level, you can jump in a kayak or aboard a Zodiac.
Day 9: Petersburg, Alaska
You will be among the privileged few to visit this authentic Alaskan village for a full day of exploration. Our included tour offers a taste of the local Norwegian culture and delicacies at Sons of Norway Hall, on National Register of Historic Places.
Day 10: Tracy Arm Fords Terror Wilderness
Tracy Fjord is only accessed via boat or float plane, making “getting there” part of the adventure. It’s often considered the most majestic of all of the Alaskan fjords. You will be privy to one-of-kind, 1,000-foot waterfalls, marine and terrestrial wildlife, snow-topped mountains, and floating glaciers. We explore this spectacular fjord via Zodiac, driven by USCG licensed captains who will expertly narrate the glacial history and succession of the ice carved fjords.
Day 11: Kake & Frederick Sound, Alaska
Immerse yourself in the Last Frontier with a journey to the Tlingit village of Kake and Frederick Sound. These two remote destinations offer the raw and hard-toreach Alaska that those on an expedition voyage are yearning for. In Kake, begin with an onboard presentation by our local cultural ambassador before you step onto land to a warm welcome in the form of carved structures and totem poles, each representing a piece of Alaskan history and culture.
Day 12: Sitka, Alaska
As your journey concludes, there are opportunities for you to further explore Sitka. Whether it's an optional premier post-cruise experience or a quick transfer to the airport for your final trip home.
