There’s something here to get everyone’s tail wagging, so grab the lead and get ready for the ultimate canine café crawl.

Dogs have a way of bringing their humans together. Add in some good coffee and delicious food and there’s no better way to make a connection.

The number of Perth cafés welcoming our dogs has continued to grow. Today, no matter where you are, there’ll be somewhere nearby with a dog bowl out the front and room for you and your bestie to share some quality café time together.

So, here are 18 of our favourite dog-friendly cafes from across the Perth metro area.

1. Slate Café, Bennett Springs

Slate Café is a one big slice of doggy heaven. The café has a beautiful rustic feel and a fully enclosed dog playground with a large, grassed area so you can enjoy your visit picnic-style on the grass (with rugs provided) or at a table. Check the website for their regular doggy playdate events.

2. The Dog’s Breakfast Café, Swan Valley

Your dog is front and centre at Dog’s Breakfast. There are delicious treats to spoil them with, an agility park and playground and even a doggie pool and spa. The human offerings are pretty good too, including freshly ground coffee, sourdough toasties, gourmet rolls, cakes and muffins. If you have an extra special occasion, the dog-friendly vibe even extends to puppy parties.

3. South Beach Café, South Fremantle

After a refreshing swim at the dog beach in South Fremantle, head to the nearby South Beach Café. It’s located close to the beachfront and right next to a playground, with a laidback beachside vibe. The café is open from 5.30am right through until 7pm so you and your doggo can take in a sunset together as well.

4. Steam Haus Café, Maylands

Located on a vibrant strip in the heart of Maylands, Steam Haus has a great inner-city vibe with coffee, savoury and sweet treats you’ll want to come back for. There’s a super dog-friendly vibe here too, so bring your little mate along and hang out on their covered back porch, and be prepared for lots of pats and cuddles from the staff (for your dog, of course).

5. Union Kitchen, Mindarie

If you want to take your dog-friendly dining experience up a notch, head to Union Kitchen at Mindarie Marina. Let your dog soak in the ocean views in the alfresco dining area while you peruse the dogs’ menu for them. They can enjoy classics like Puppacinos and Pupsicles, as well as modern Australian doggie cuisine like Mutt Shakes and K9 Pupcakes, or give them a great start to the day with a hearty Dogs’ Bark-fast.

6. Holly Raye’s, Bassendean

The big colourful dog mural on the side of Holly Raye’s says everything about how seriously these guys take their doggy patrons. Bring yours along and enjoy some awesome human treats, too. The striking mural on the side of the café is of the owners’ dog Angus and was painted by renowned WA artist Anya Brock. Get a selfie while you’re there.

7. Little Stove, Bicton

The team at Little Stove love to welcome your little fur babies. Set on a quiet local street, there’s plenty of room in the alfresco area out the front to settle in for a coffee and a bite to eat after a doggie walk. A lovely path along the river is only a short walk from here.

8. The Orange Box, North Fremantle

After a walk or swim at Leighton’s dog beach, head down the road to The Orange Box for a coffee, some food and maybe some doggy treats. Set right on the beachfront, this bustling café has plenty of shaded outdoor seating for you and your dog as well as a large, grassed picnic area out the front.

9. Babylon Café, Leederville

This little hidden gem in heart of Leederville but tucked away off Newcastle Street, will welcome you and your dog with open arms. At Babylon Cafe you'll be treated to awesome coffee, lots of home-cooked goodies and a super dog-friendly crew to fuss after you and your bestie.

10. Canning River Café, Wilson

The Canning River Café just loves dogs so it really wouldn’t be fair on yours to leave it at home. Located at Kent Street Weir Park and overlooking the tranquil Canning River, this attractive cafe is particularly connected to its natural surroundings with a very open-plan design. It’s the ultimate in alfresco dining and the ideal spot to chill out with your dog.

11. Daisies, Cottesloe

Take a dog walk with beautiful ocean views along the coastal path at Cottesloe and then head to Daisies for a bite to eat or a ‘pick-me-up’ coffee. Surrounded by Cottesloe’s iconic pine trees, Daisies is a local institution open for breakfast and lunch. If you can’t find a table in the al fresco area, grab a spot on the large, grassed verge.

12. Boo Espresso, Perth

Grab a Puppacino and bring out the inner-city hipster pup in your dog. This very relaxed café is literally a widow through which your coffee and snacks get served, with some seating under a tree on the grassy verge. But Boo Espresso has an irresistible charm and it’s a great spot to meet and connect with other two and four-legged locals.

13. Little Pantry, Subiaco

Open every day until 2pm, Subiaco’s Little Pantry is open for your little four-legged friends, too. Dine out in their lovely courtyard and look out for some special pet treats to help keep everyone at the table very satisfied. It’s also an easy walk to and from the beautiful parkland at Lake Jualbup so you can fit in a walk either before or after your visit.

14. The Garden Café, Maylands

Grab the Sunday paper, put the dog on a lead and head to this little ‘oasis’ of delicious food and relaxing vibes. The team here would love to see you share their welcoming space with your furry best mate. The Garden Café is open Tuesdays to Sundays for breakfast, brunch and lunch, with burger nights on Fridays and Saturdays.

15. Ootong and Lincoln, South Fremantle

There’s always a bunch of wagging tales outside this South Fremantle café. Stop by for breakfast, brunch or lunch as well as some special doggie treats. The dog beach at South Fremantle is not too far away so you can both enjoy some quality beach time before or after your café date.

16. The Botanical Café, Kings Park

Everyone’s favourite park also has a doggie café experience. At Kings Park’s Botanical Café, you can enjoy the magical views with your fur baby by your side in the alfresco area. It’s just an added bonus to being able to walk and picnic with your dog on-lead in this incredible location. The café is open seven days a week from 7am to 5pm.

17. The Organic Circle, Armadale

When you’re as committed to wellness as these guys you understand all the good energy that our dogs radiate. Bring yours along and enjoy some organic goodness together. The Organic Circle cater for gluten free, paleo, vegan and vegetarian diets and they also have a store which sells organic products.

18. Café Moka, Mandurah

Go for walkies through the Mandurah Ocean Marina then settle in for a bite to eat at Café Moka. Located on a boardwalk overlooking the water, the café is open for breakfast and lunch with dog’s more than welcome in the alfresco dining area. It’s one of several dog-friendly cafés at the dog-friendly marina so make a day of it.
