More than 100 RAC members helped out at WA Wildlife, the busiest wildlife hospital in Western Australia. The day gave members a chance to go behind the scenes, see native animals up close, and learn how the centre cares for injured and orphaned wildlife.
Members went on guided tours to see how staff care for animals like kangaroo joeys, possums, birds, and reptiles. They learned about the dangers animals face and how the centre helps them return safely to the wild.
In hands-on workshops, members learned useful skills. They found out how to watch for animals on rural roads and what to do if they see an injured animal. They also learned that small actions—like slowing down at dawn and dusk—can help protect wildlife.
RAC is proud to work with WA Wildlife to teach road safety and help native animals. Members who want to learn more or visit the centre can book a tour on the WA Wildlife website or join RAC on our annual member day at the centre.
Together, we can make roads safer for people and wildlife.
