If you already know and love the annual Margaret River Open Studios event, get ready to go even further into WA’s artistic south at the Southern Art and Craft Trail.
2025 will be the 22nd year of the event, which shines a light on the incredibly talented artists located throughout the stunning Great Southern and Southern Forests regions, with the works of more than 600 artists featured.
See exhibits inside artists’ home studios where you can also see them at work. Browse the scores of other exhibition spaces, including various regional galleries, pop-up galleries, wineries, cafés, restaurants, and local town halls.
There are more than 60 different venues in total where you can see works including painting, sculpture, textiles, ceramics, printmaking, photography, woodcraft, jewellery, glass art, and sculpture.
You’ll also be able to take part in workshops where you can get hands-on and watch demonstrations of many different artistic practises and techniques.
Some of the major cities and towns on the Southern Art and Craft Trail include Albany, Bremer Bay, Denmark, Walpole, Mount Barker, Kojonup, Manjimup, Pemberton, and Nornalup.
To mark out your own trail, pick up a copy of the 2025 Southern Art and Craft Trail booklet, available in multiple locations throughout the southern regions of WA, including visitor centres, libraries, local council offices, galleries and cafes. Or browse it online.
The 2025 Southern Art and Craft Trail is on from Saturday 27 September to Sunday 12 October.
