For one weekend each year, the picturesque South West town of Balingup transforms into a medieval village as lords, ladies, knights, jesters and squires descend for its much-loved Medieval Carnivale.
Home to just 600 residents, Balingup welcomes thousands of visitors for the annual festival, which has become the town's biggest event over the past 31 years.
Expect a weekend filled with medieval pageantry, including a spectacular grand parade, live music, roaming performers, sword fighting demonstrations and thrilling combat re-enactments in the arena.
One of the festival's biggest highlights is the Burning of the Dragon on Saturday night. Watch as drummers and fire performers build the excitement before a giant dragon sculpture is dramatically set alight in a fiery finale.
Beyond the entertainment, visitors can browse more than 100 market stalls showcasing handcrafted goods, artisan products and medieval-inspired wares. There's also plenty to eat and drink, with gourmet food, local wines, ciders, mead and Balingup's famous fruit wines on offer.
Arrive dressed in your best medieval costume, or hire one on the day, and enjoy a fun-filled weekend of knights, dragons, delicious food and entertainment for the whole family.
