Perth is going prehistoric this summer with the world premiere of Dinosaurs Uncovered, an exhibition exploring how palaeontologists have reconstructed prehistoric animals and lost ecosystems using science and technology.
Opening at WA Museum Boola Bardip on 21 November, the exhibition will take visitors beyond traditional dinosaur displays, combining authentic fossil material, life-sized skeletal reconstructions, immersive environments, interactive excavation experiences, large-scale projection and digital technology.
Visitors will journey through prehistoric environments, uncover fossil evidence in an interactive virtual dig site and explore how scientists piece together fragmentary discoveries to reconstruct complete prehistoric animals.
A major visual highlight will be a five-metre-tall full-sized reconstruction of Quetzalcoatlus northropi, one of the largest known flying animals to have ever lived.
The exhibition will also be accompanied by a season-long program of events, including Late Nights at Boola Bardip, artist residencies, talks and creative experiences, along with family-friendly activities.
The exhibition is produced by AGB Creative in curatorial partnership with the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County.
