Lightscape returns to Kings Park and Botanic Garden from 5 June to 26 July 2026, bringing a reimagined night-time experience to one of Perth’s most iconic green spaces.

Along the 1.8-kilometre illuminated trail, visitors weave through the gardens, encountering more than 20 large-scale works. This year’s program features a refreshed line-up of leading international artists, alongside new contributions from Western Australian creatives.

Designed to be experienced after dark, the trail unfolds through timed evening sessions, guiding visitors along glowing pathways, immersive soundscapes anddazzling light displays set within the park’s natural landscape.

Highlights for 2026 include installations such as Herbum by French artists TILT and Mycelium Network by UK artist Stevie Thompson, continuing the event’s focus on world-class immersive design.

“There is a unique sense of wonder that comes from experiencing Kings Park illuminated at night during Lightscape,” said Environment Minister Matthew Swinbourn. “If you’ve visited before, this year will surprise you once again. If you haven’t, this is the year to discover it.”

Beyond the installations, visitors can pause for seasonal treats, with food and drink offerings including mulled wine, hot chocolate and snacks available throughout the trail.
