Mouthwatering melting moments, decadent éclair brownies and chunky beef pies fill the cabinet at one of Albany’s newest cafés, and locals are already lining up.
Located at the top end of town, Little Larder Co has quickly built a following since opening earlier this year, with its sell-out cinnamon scrolls and a steady stream of locals dropping in for their house-made cakes and barista coffee.
Owner and chef Vicki brought the café to life following the success of her Thursday food truck pop-up outside the Lower King Store, where her flavour-packed dishes like loaded nachos and Birris tacos earned a loyal fan base.
Inside the cosy space and you’ll find a cabinet packed with freshly baked cakes, cookies and slices, from lemon curd Basque cheesecake and rocky road to Black Forest cake and hazelnut torte. It’s the kind of place where choosing just one thing is nearly impossible, especially if you have a sweet tooth.
For those leaning savoury, the menu delivers just as much comfort. Think gourmet toasties like classic ham and mozzarella in a toasted Turkish roll, or a hearty Reuben served on house-baked rye. Savoury muffins, flaky pastries and warm pies, all served with their signature tomato relish, round out the offering.
Little Larder Co also caters for a range of dietary requirements, so everyone can find something to enjoy.
Beyond the café counter, Vicki and her team also offer custom cakes, grazing platters and corporate catering for celebrations or special events.
Whether you’re passing through on a road trip or a local looking for your next go-to spot, Little Larder Co is a must-visit for anyone chasing a quality coffee and something delicious on the side.
Little Larder Co is open Wednesday to Sunday, located at Shop 3, 326 Middelton Road, Albany.
