Each March, the waterfront in Mandurah shifts up a gear, and this year there’s even more reason to take notice. The Channel 7 Mandurah Crab Fest marks 25 years of bringing locals and visitors together for a weekend shaped by seafood, music and that easy coastal energy the region is known for.
Held across two days, the free festival has grown into one of Western Australia’s largest regional events, built around the blue manna crab - a species synonymous with the waterways of the Peel-Harvey Estuary. But while crabbing remains at its heart, the program stretches well beyond the nets and buckets.
The foreshore will buzz with food vendors, live cooking demos, roaming performers and family-friendly fun. Local producers showcase the flavours of the Peel region, while internationally renowned chef Diana Chan fires up the Spudshed Cooking Stage alongside crowd favourite Brendan Pang.
Live music carries through the weekend, with Havana Brown performing Saturday night and Thelma Plum headlining Sunday, backed by a strong line-up of local talent.
Festival ambassadors James Stewart and Ada Nicodemou will appear throughout the event alongside media personalities, chefs and entertainers, contributing to a packed schedule of demonstrations and public activations.
Beyond the free program, ticketed experiences offer even more to explore, from boat cruises and Pirate Ship adventures to wellness sessions, Crafternoons, Beer Yoga and curated food and beverage masterclasses hosted by local businesses.
Supported by City of Mandurah, Crab Fest has evolved into more than a seafood celebration. As the waterfront fills with activity, the 25th anniversary edition invites visitors to be part of a long-standing local tradition. Free shuttle buses will run from 10am - 9:30pm on Saturday 15 March and 10am - 7pm on Sunday 16 March.
