Held from 15 - 24 May 2026 on Miriwoong and Gajirrabeng Country, the multi-award-winning event invites visitors to experience the East Kimberley at a different pace. Far from a fly-in, fly-out event, the Muster has built its reputation on delivering experiences shaped by landscape and local spirit.
Over ten days, Kununurra and the surrounding region transform into a stage for music, comedy, dining, rodeo, wellness and cultural programming that reflects the character of northern Western Australia.
Festival-goers can expect everything from guided 4WD safaris into Purnululu Country and immersive cultural experiences with the Miriwoong Gajerrong people, to community celebrations, food and wine events, and outdoor adventure across the region’s rugged landscapes.
The highlight of the program remains the Kimberley Moon Experience, widely considered the festival’s centrepiece, where live music unfolds beneath a canopy of stars.
In 2026, the stage will feature performances from Tina Arena, Boy & Bear, and Budjerah, continuing the tradition of bringing nationally recognised artists to one of Australia’s most remote touring locations.
Beyond headline acts, the wider program balances large-scale events with more intimate moments, including Indigenous-led performances, family-friendly community gatherings like Party in the Park, comedy shows, wellness sessions and culinary experiences highlighting local produce.
Volunteers, sponsors, local businesses and residents remain central to its delivery, helping maintain authenticity even as the festival has grown into a recognised fixture on the national events calendar.
Between headline performances and scheduled activities, visitors are encouraged to explore, whether that means discovering hidden gorges, watching dramatic sunsets across the ranges, or experiencing waterfalls and waterways shaped over millennia.
The 2026 Boab Metals Ord Valley Muster runs Friday 15 May to Sunday 24 May, with the Kimberley Moon Experience taking place on Saturday 23 May.
