Waroona is getting a new rodeo, but this one is designed to be much more than a few hours watching the action in the arena.
The Charla Downs Waroona Rodeo will bring competitors from across WA to a beautiful private farm in the region, with live local music, food and trade stalls adding to the country atmosphere.
But you don’t need to know your bull riding from your barrel racing to enjoy the day. Gates open from 9am, with a junior rodeo on Saturday morning before the main event gets underway at 2pm.
As the sun goes down, the arena will make way for live country music, with bands taking to the stage and playing late into the night. Licensed areas and food will be available throughout the day.
For those who don't fancy making the drive back, camping will be available on site, making it possible to turn the rodeo into a weekend in the Waroona region.
The event is organised by Double Barrel Entertainment, which aims to create quality events in regional WA and encourage visitors to travel, stay and support local businesses.
It’s hoped the Charla Downs Waroona Rodeo will become a regular fixture on the local calendar, giving the community a new country gathering to look forward to and visitors another reason to point the car south.
