From crooning along to carols in the park, to exploring Christmas markets, and watching your kid’s faces light up as they catch some shimmering Christmas lights, there are plenty of ways to feel the joy of this special time of year.
Here are just some of the events, festivals and Christmas markets happening across Perth through November and December to get you into the festive mood.
2024 Christmas Twilight Market
Find unique Christmas gifts among the stalls full of handcrafted gift works at this year’s Christmas Twilight Market.
Everything from jewellery to original artworks, clothing, and homewares will be on display for eager Christmas shoppers, or just come along to join in the festive atmosphere and enjoy some tasty street eats from the food trucks, along with some great live entertainment. Santa will also be making a special appearance to meet the kids.
When and where: 29 November, 4pm-9pm, Supreme Court Gardens.
Bazaar Christmas Makers Markets
One of Perth’s most popular Christmas craft markets returns to the Fremantle Arts Centre.
Browse through many stalls filled with high-quality handcrafted goods produced by WA makers, including jewellery, homewares, toys, fashion, ceramics, artworks and lots more.
Even if you’re not shopping, it’s worth stopping by for a look, to grab a bite to eat, and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere.
When and where: 29 November – 1 December, 5pm-9pm Friday, 9am-5pm Saturday and Sunday, Fremantle Arts Centre, Finnerty Street, Fremantle.
Perth Christmas Lights Trail
Take the family for a magical night out following the Christmas Lights Trail in the city and Northbridge. The lights will be switched on from 22 November and will feature 20 different light installations. You can also walk the family-friendly Merry Mile in the heart of the CBD.
There will also be special festive entertainment throughout the city from 22 November, including weekly visits from Santa, plus a snowfall display in Yagan Square near the Jewel Tree nightly from 7:30pm-8:30pm.

Beaufort Street Christmas Festival
Join the festive vibes on Beaufort Street for the annual Christmas Festival.
The fun starts at 4pm with activities to keep the kids busy, local performers providing entertainment for all, community carols, and market stalls displaying unique wares from local artists and craftspeople as part of the Twilight Markets.
When and where: 7 December, 4pm-8pm, St. Albans Church ground, Beaufort Street, Highgate.
Perth Christmas Pageant
The annual Perth Christmas Pageant is a highlight of the festive season. Now in its 53rd year, the Pageant will return to its traditional route down St. Georges Terrace in the Perth CBD, with a rolling show of colourful floats, roving performers, marching bands, Christmas characters, and local personalities.
The parade route begins at the corner of William Street and St. Georges Terrace and travels along St. Georges Terrace, into Victoria Avenue, finishing at Langley Park. Get in early to secure a good viewing spot. Road closures will be in place from 4pm.
When and where: 7 December, 7:30pm to 9pm, St. Georges Terrace, Perth. (Note: Start and end times may vary.)
Lotterywest Festive Lights
You’ll see Christmas lights taken to a whole new level at Lotterywest Festive Lights.
Held across two nights over the water at Elizabeth Quay, a light show featuring 500 drones will combine with spectacular fireworks.
There’ll be entertainment and activities to keep the whole family entertained before the light show starts at 8pm, plus a selection of food trucks amongst the eateries on the quay.
When and where: 30 November – 1 December, 5pm-9pm (light show 8pm), Elizabeth Quay, Perth.
Mandurah Christmas Lights and Christmas Pageant
This year, 30 glittering Christmas light installations will illuminate Mandurah’s city centre and the Mandurah Ocean Marina. For the first time, the light trail will also feature interactive virtual reality experiences, which you’ll be able to activate by scanning QR codes along the trail.
Leading up to Christmas, there will also be plenty of weekly family entertainment, activities to enjoy, and markets to explore, including the Tiny Treasures Twilight Markets.
It all kicks off with the City of Mandurah Christmas Pageant on 29 November.
When and where: 29 November – 5 January, 6pm-9pm, Mandurah city centre and Mandurah Ocean Marina.
Joondalup Artisan Markets - Christmas edition
Held indoors on the Edith Cowan University (ECU) Joondalup campus, the Joondalup Artisan Markets will feature works by more than 120 local creatives, including woodworkers, potters, jewellers and toy makers.
A selection of food trucks will also be on site, with live music to accompany the festivities, plus face painting and games for the kids.
When and where: 8 December, 9:30am-3:00pm, ECU Joondalup Sport and Fitness Centre, Joondalup Drive.
Carols in the City
Bring a picnic rug and settle in for a special night of Christmas carols under the stars in Supreme Court Gardens. Come early for the pre-concert entertainment from 6:30pm including a visit from Santa. Then enjoy a night of popular Christmas carols sung by special guest performers, ending with a fireworks display.
When and where: 21 December, pre-show entertainment 6:30pm, concert 7:30pm, fireworks 9:15pm, Supreme Court Gardens, Perth.
Carols in the Park
Accompanied by the West Australian Symphony Orchestra, guest vocalists will take to the stage in Claremont for a magic night of Christmas carols.
Bring a picnic or choose from a selection of food trucks on site. There'll be pre-concert family entertainment from 4:30pm, and a special visit by Santa and his elves.
