As Australia’s renewed fascination with country culture sweeps from the coast to the outback, one WA event has been celebrating it long before it became a trend. Each year, the Boyup Brook Country Music Muster brings thousands of visitors to the picturesque banks of the Blackwood River, offering a true taste of regional Western Australia at a time when boots, brimmed hats and country storytelling are taking centre stage.
Held in the natural amphitheatre of Music Park from 13–15 February 2026, the festival transforms the riverside town into WA’s unofficial country capital for three days of music, community and relaxed outdoor living. What began nearly 40 years ago as a volunteer-driven celebration has grown into one of the state’s most-loved regional events.
Across the weekend, performances fill the park and spill into the streets, with headline sets from Andrew Swift and Ella Hooper alongside more than twenty outstanding Western Australian country artists. The festival atmosphere reaches its peak during the iconic Ute and Truck Parade, when polished chrome, classic rigs and local pride roll through town in a colourful display that captures the spirit of the region.
Festival-goers can also enjoy WA’s largest Bush Poets Breakfast, a free street carnival, arts workshops, and dancing under the stars at Music Park. The wide variety of activities, and the way the whole town gets involved, turns a simple festival visit into a memorable country getaway.
Visitors are encouraged to bring reusable coffee and wine cups to support the event’s sustainability efforts, as no plastic cups are available on-site. Connectivity in the region can be patchy, so carrying a little cash is helpful for markets, food stalls and local vendors.
Camping remains central to the Muster experience, with community-run sites dotted around Boyup Brook, most within easy walking distance of Music Park. Options range from local tennis and football clubs to the town’s high school grounds, with prices generally between $27 and $29 per site, per night (plus booking fees).
Located about 270 kilometres from Perth, Boyup Brook offers the perfect setting where visitors are welcomed warmly and become part of a long-standing tradition that celebrates both the local community and the wider country music family.
