The Brunswick Show returns to the Brunswick Showground on Saturday 24 October for its 95th annual Show, with this year’s theme, Showcasing Working Dogs, putting some of the region's hardest working animals in the spotlight.
There’ll be plenty to see around the showgrounds, including working dog demonstrations, cattle judging, livestock, machinery displays, market stalls, an animal nursery and the Grand Parade.
Motocross and bull riding will bring some extra action to the showgrounds, while Sideshow Alley will offer rides and games. Live music, family activities and food stalls will keep things going throughout the day, before the evening wraps up with a fireworks finale.
The Show traces its roots back to 1931, when local farmers and residents joined forces to showcase livestock, farm produce and homemade goods. Aside from a brief pause during World War II, it has remained a much-loved fixture on the local calendar ever since.
More than 90 years on, the Brunswick Agricultural Society continues to run the event with the support of dedicated local volunteers.
Gates open at 8.30am at the Brunswick Showgrounds on Ridley Street, Brunswick Junction, with parking and a free shuttle service available.
