McDonald Hillhas opened in the Chittering Valley with its first boutique chalet, designed for two people looking for a country stay without straying too far from Perth.
The one-bedroom, one-bathroom chalet is designed exclusively for two, with a private sauna, heated and cooled plunge pool, fireplace and telescope for stargazing.
A welcome basket awaits guests on arrival, filled with farm-fresh eggs, fresh bread, local honey and a bottle of wine. Outside, a fire pit is set up for evenings under the stars, with marshmallows and chocolate ready to toast after dark.
A short climb up the hill leads to the Hilltop Soak, a seasonal wood-fired outdoor bath overlooking the orchard and surrounding farmland.
The animals are very much part of the experience, too. During the Golden Hour experience, guests can join Jack to meet, feed and brush the farm's Highland cows, Fern and Fergus, spend time with Waffles the donkey, and get acquainted with the resident alpacas.
Every aspect of the experience has been thoughtfully designed to help guests relax and slow down.
McDonald Hill is also home to owners Jack and Tess, who live in the original 1920s homestead and have poured countless hours into creating the farm stay.
Beyond the property, the team works with local businesses and producers to connect guests with the people, produce and places that make the Chittering Valley special.
