Fairies, trolls, dragons and other mythical creatures will take over the streets of Mt Barker during the Fantasy Door Festival this September and October.

Part of the Great Southern's annual Bloom Festival, the enchanting trail features miniature and full-sized doors painted, decorated and handcrafted by talented local adults and children.

Visitors can discover doors brought to life through a range of art forms, including painting, collage, sculpture and mosaic.

The trail winds from the Plantagenet Shire Office lawn along the main street, and from the Visitor Centre to the old railway building, creating a magical journey through town.

After exploring, stop by Mt Barker Country Bakery, one of WA's favourite bakeries, for a coffee and a sweet or savoury treat. Then head to Wilson Park to wander the fairy door trail and enjoy the nature playground.

Don't forget to vote for your favourite creation. Voting slips are available from Mt Barker IGA, with the top two entries each receiving a $500 prize donated by Mt Barker Community Bank.
