Green thumbs, gardeners and flower lovers, it's time to plan a road trip to Nannup for one of WA's most beloved garden festivals this August.
Celebrating its 29th year, the Nannup Flower and Garden Festival will once again transform the small South West town with over 20,000 blooming tulips, open gardens, market stalls and a packed program of fun, educational and environmental experiences.
More than 80 unique events will take place across 10 days from 7-16 August, with activities ranging from hot sauce and sauerkraut making to spring bouquet workshops and even a bush dance.
Some of Australia's biggest names in gardening will also feature on this year's program, including ABC's Gardening Australia presenter Costa Georgiadis, The Thrift Gardener author Millie Ross and award-winning WA chef and gardener Guy Jeffreys.
Nannup's town hall will be transformed into an immersive experience curated by talented local artists lead by Nina Hoad-Pipkin and Leanne White under the theme Grow. Gather. Feast.
Whatever your gardening niche, there's something on the program for you. Whether you're struggling to grow orchids, curious about fermented foods or keen to learn how to build a mini greenhouse or wicking bed, you're bound to leave feeling inspired and armed with new ideas for your own garden.
There are plenty of activities for children in the Busy-Bee Marquee, including making their own herb gardens, face painting, giant bubbles and creating fairy gardens.
Take the Golden Wattle Arts Trail and the Blue Wren Garden Trail during your Nannup visit to see all the local gardens and studios bursting with creativity and colour for the festival.
The fun doesn't stop when the sun goes down. The evening program includes a screening of The Rose Maker, a bush dance, plant bingo, quiz night and An Evening with Costa at Forest & Fire.
Check out the full festival program and start planning your winter getaway to Nannup.
