Subiaco is set to come alive with floral creativity and glowing installations this autumn as the award-winning Subi Blooms Festival returns for its eighth year.
Running from Friday 17 April to Sunday 10 May, the vibrant event invites visitors to step away from their screens and into an immersive living floral fantasy illuminated by light.
Across three days from 8-10 May, the Subiaco town centre will transform into a magical open-air gallery as part of Subi Blooms x Gather.
Across the precinct, 18 floral installations will bloom along a curated trail, guiding visitors from the Subiaco Oval Heritage Gates through Market Square and up Rokeby Road.
This year’s theme, Flora Aurora, draws inspiration from glowing skies and luminous landscapes, with i
nstallations designed to play with light, colour and shadow. Expect everything from rainbow-filled laneways and native cottage gardens to immersive floral canopies overhead.
Headlining the program is internationally recognised florist Bryce Heyworth of September Studio, whose bold, sculptural designs and viral social content have earned a global following.
At the heart of this year’s program is The Light Within, a spectacular inflatable art installation transforming Market Square Park into a glowing landscape of giant floral lanterns.
Created by internationally renowned Australian artist Matthew Aberline, the installation will shift from a playful daytime display into a luminous after-dark experience, offering a completely different perspective once the sun sets.
Originally showcased at major international festivals in Singapore and China, this marks the first time the installation has been displayed in Western Australia.
Now one of Western Australia’s most celebrated cultural events, Subi Blooms continues to grow each year, transforming Subiaco into one of the state’s most colourful destinations this autumn.
