For a few short months each year, the Perth Hills put on one of their best displays. As the Noongar seasons of Djilba and Kambarang unfold, native wildflowers begin appearing across the bushland, from tiny orchids and everlastings to blooms that can be easy to miss if you’re focused on the trail ahead.

Off The Beaten Track's new Wildflower Wander Series is designed to help you notice them. Led by experienced local guides, the three guided hikes explore different corners of the Perth Hills, pairing spring wildflowers with local knowledge, wildlife encounters, photography stops and plenty of time to take in the scenery.

An elevated, wide shot shows a small group of people standing near a green-colored lake inside a steep rock quarry. The quarry features tall, rocky cliffs with yellow, orange, and grey rock faces. Green grass and scattered rocks cover the ground near the people. Trees and sparse vegetation grow along the upper edges of the quarry under an overcast sky.

First up is John Forrest, where a 7km beginner-friendly hike winds through one of Perth’s oldest national parks, with forest trails and spring blooms along the way.

At Walyunga, an 11km intermediate hike takes in sweeping valley views, rugged granite hills and riverside scenery, with the landscape putting on its own colourful floral show.

Then there’s Ellis Brook Valley, a 9km beginner-friendly walk through one of Perth’s richest wildflower reserves. More than 500 plant species have been recorded here, with the trail also taking in the picturesque Sixty Foot Falls.

Four hikers wearing backpacks and using trekking poles ascend a rugged, rocky trail through a eucalyptus forest.

Each experience includes a native-inspired morning tea and botanical tea, complimentary hiking poles and time to stop, photograph and learn about the plants and landscapes around you.

You can join one walk or take on all three, with an early-bird offer saving 20% when all three experiences are booked together.
