If you're planning a road trip to Denmark this summer, you'll soon be able to experience one of its most-loved coastal attractions from a brand-new boardwalk and viewing platform.
William Bay National Park is home to two of WA's most famous beaches, Greens Pool and Elephant Rocks, known for their sheltered turquoise waters, giant granite boulders and spectacular coastal scenery.
Work will soon begin on upgrades designed to improve visitor access, including a new upper-level boardwalk, lookout and beach access stairs at Greens Pool.
Nearby Elephant Rocks will also receive upgrades as part of the project, including sealed pathways, new steps and viewing decks. The beach will be closed for the duration of the works.
Planning is also underway to relocate the Munda Biddi Trail away from William Bay Road, improving safety for trail users and enhancing walking and cycling access to the national park.
Construction at Greens Pool is expected to begin in early June, with the boardwalk being built first to maintain visitor access for as long as possible. Works at Elephant Rocks are scheduled to commence in July.
Both projects are expected to be completed by December 2026, ahead of the peak summer holiday season.
Visitors will also benefit from new interpretive signage highlighting the area's natural features, cultural significance and history.
The upgrades mark the final stage of the broader improvement project, following the completion of new parking bays, toilets and a shared walking and cycling trail.
