In 2025 RAC proposed a 20-year general insurance partnership with IAG, Australia’s largest general insurance company, to keep RAC insurance sustainable, competitive and focused on members for the long haul. In this episode of RAC’s Horizons Podcast, RAC Group CEO Rob Slocombe joins us to explain the proposed partnership and what it means for members.
Rob outlines the changing insurance landscape, from climate risk and rising reinsurance costs to growing regulatory and technology demands, and why RAC believes partnering with a larger national insurer will help protect members into the future.
He also addresses the ACCC’s opposition to the proposal, what happens next under the new regulatory regime, and reassures members that RAC’s brand, local service, and commitment to Western Australians will remain unchanged.
