A cosy new coffee lounge, wine bar and creative studio has opened in York, giving visitors another reason to make the easy 90-minute day trip from Perth.
Housed inside a beautifully restored heritage building that was once a boot maker's emporium dating back to 1887, Bardo is a welcoming place inviting locals and visitors to slow down, connect and savour the moment.
Described by customers as a “warm hug”, owners Malik and Chey have curated a welcoming space filled with cosiness, warmth and connection.
Expect specialty coffee from Margaret River Roasting Co. served in handcrafted mugs by River Ceramics, alongside a menu featuring golden Reuben toasties and peanut butter and choc chip banana bread.
Bardo is more than just a café . From Friday 14 August, the space will transform into a cosy wine bar in the evenings.
It also doubles as a creative studio, bringing together Indigenous and non-Indigenous artists and creatives through workshops, classes and community events.
Despite only recently opening its doors, the calendar is already filling with yoga sessions, sound healing, Aboriginal art workshops and collaborative painting classes.
Bardo is open from 7am on Mondays and Thursdays to Sundays, and is located at 152 Avon Terrace, York.
Find out more or book an upcoming event via the Bardo website.
