The Old Guildford Post Office is set for a major transformation, with plans to convert the heritage-listed landmark into a new all-day dining destination, expected to open in late 2027 or early 2028.
Known as Parcels, the venue will combine a café, French-inspired patisserie and European-style bistro under one roof. Visitors can expect quality coffee, freshly baked pastries, breakfast and lunch during the day, before the space transitions into a relaxed evening dining spot.
Built in 1897, the Old Guildford Post Office has been a local icon for more than 125 years.
The building was purchased in late 2024 by Bilgoman Property, a partnership of three local families with longstanding ties to Guildford.
Preserving the building's heritage will be central to the redevelopment, with careful restoration planned for original features, including its distinctive clock tower.
While much of the historic character will remain intact, the rear of the property will be adapted to accommodate its new hospitality offering.
Once complete, Parcels will seat around 150 people across the historic building and surrounding outdoor spaces. The owners hope to create a welcoming gathering place that feels at home in the heart of Guildford, drawing both locals and visitors.
Its location places guests within easy walking distance of some of Guildford's most significant attractions, including the Old Colonial Gaol, Swan Valley Visitor Centre and Stirling Square.
Following development approval in September, the project is progressing through detailed design, restoration planning and construction preparation.
More information about the menu and food offering is expected to be revealed as the development moves forward.
Parcels will be located at the Old Guildford Post Office, 24 Stirling Street, Guildford.
