Entertaining your kids during the school holidays can be an expensive exercise. One of the perks of being an RAC member is there are loads of discounts available at family-friendly destinations around Perth.
1. Rev it up at the Motor Museum of WA
This unique museum is a must-visit for car enthusiasts of any age. The museum’s premier attraction is a modern F1 racing car—donated by Perth’s own racing champion, Daniel Ricciardo.
Visit the museum on Friday 18th July for a special Traction Engine event, where you can catch a great display of traction engines and miniature railway exhibits.
The museum also has an impressive collection of classic cars and other pieces of motoring history.

2. Go ice skating

3. Spend a day at AQWA
Escape from the chill into the wonderful underwater world of AQWA.
This July, it’s shark month. Kids can head to the Touch Pool to meet the aquarium’s resident Port Jackson shark pups, head on a discovery trail to bust some common shark myths, or head over to the Dangerzone to hold a shark egg and learn about their lifecycle with friendly Ocean Guides.

4. Ignite their curiosity at Scitech
Embark on a mission to Mars at Scitech’s feature exhibition these school holidays.
Kids will get to experience what it's like to travel to and survive on Mars, from packing for the trip to growing food and building a shelter.
The exhibition features 17 hands-on exhibits to keep inquisitive minds busy.
There are also three exciting live shows to catch these July school holidays. Witness explosive chemistry experiments choreographed to music or check out the two guided trips through space in the Planetarium.

5. Throw an axe at Lumber Punks
Channel some Lord of the Rings energy at Lumber Punks Axe Throwing. This is one that will keep the teenagers busy, with ages 14 - 17 allowed when accompanied by a parent or guardian.
The session includes full training on how to safely throw an axe before you battle it out to see who can hit the bullseye.

6. Catch a movie

Some kids hop on a plane for the school holidays but if you can’t make it overseas, a virtual reality experience could be the next best thing.
