RAC donates $10,000 to support WA emergency services

The annual Lights and Sirens round hosted by the Fremantle Dockers shines a spotlight on WA’s emergency services, including WA Police Force, Department of Fire and Emergency Services and St John WA.

As the official road safety partner of the Fremantle Dockers, RAC proudly supported this match to demonstrate our dedication to giving back to those that keep us safe.

Before the match, RAC joined fans in the precinct with the RAC Rescue Experience and the RAC Patrol Van. The activations gave visitors the chance to learn more about road safety and RAC's long history of supporting emergency services across the state.

At half time, fans watched a special light show celebrating the people who help keep our communities safe. WA singer Stella Kelly performed Superheroes as a tribute to the dedicated first responders who support Western Australians every day.

RAC also pledged to donate $500 for every Fremantle goal kicked during the match to Fortem Australia – a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing mental health and wellbeing services to first responders and their families. The Dockers kicked 11 goals, and RAC rounded the total donation up to $10,000

Supporting emergency services has been part of RAC's story for more than 100 years. From our members raising funds for field ambulances during World War 1, to helping WA Police establish Neighbourhood Watch, to our 23 year sponsorship of the RAC Rescue helicopters*, and our recently announced partnership with St John WA.

The Lights and Sirens game is another way RAC recognises and thanks the people who protect our community every day. We are proud to continue supporting the organisations and volunteers who make Western Australia a safer place.
