Creative Maylands

Bringing local businesses, community groups and residents together to give the much-loved Roxy Lane a makeover, with public art, nooks, and greening transforming it into a Maylands community hub.

Discover Dianella

A run-down park fondly known as Dig Dig Park will be transformed into an inviting play space that will attract young families to relax and connect. The project features a community artwork, toy garage and little street library.

Dowerin This Together

The façade of the Tin Dog General Store will be transformed into beautiful landmark where a series of community engagement activities will be held.

Flower District (West Leederville)

The Northwood Community Festival - incorporating stalls, children’s activities, workshops, and offerings from local businesses. A highlight will be the interactive installation of the legacy mural by a local indigenous artist, which will feature significant and historical plant species from the area.

Horrocks Town Team

The Horrocks Lookout Project transformed an underutilized beachfront zone into a reflective and colourful public open space for the local community impacted by Cyclone Seroja.

Ignite Wicky (Wickepin)

Wickepin Harvest Festival. The inaugural festival celebrated all things uniquely Wickepin. A fun, family friendly day out showcasing and connecting rural community with music, food, entertainment, competitions, and games.

Inglewood on Beaufort

Delivery of a permanent arts hub with a studio, workshop, exhibition and retail spaces where local creatives practice, share and exhibit their talents, and the community gathers, learns and celebrates.

Leederville Connect

Melrose Street Play Street and Blank Walls join forces to transform a gloomy freeway noise wall, the dreary backdrop to our beloved play street cul-de-sac, into vibrant street art on a major scale.

Mount Hawthorn Hub

A new local pop-up market activating quiet spaces within Mt Hawthorn by providing home businesses and entrepreneurs a platform to showcase their local products and services.

Narembeen Town Team

A community street festival where the main street of Narembeen was activated, and 'Be Seen Narembeen' artist mural launched.

Portside Town Team (Port Hedland)

An exciting street festival showcasing the best of Port Hedland that includes a community mural, guerrilla gardening, live performances and amazing food to help build a connected, inclusive and engaged community.

Scarborough Beach Association

Scarborough has a rich and evolving history over more than 100 years. The pilot will test augmented reality technology to develop a Scarborough Heritage Trail to share the stories of significant places around the community.

Spencer Park Town Team (Albany)

The extension of a community garden and gathering space for locals to enjoy where two annual events will be held that mark the beginning and end of Harvest season.

York Town Team

This project installed community bench seats, within the Peace Park, making public areas more comfortable and attractive for locals and tourists to gather, sit, rest talk and enjoy.

Brentwood Village

Building Busselton

Busselton Street Art Project - locals will be invited to help transform Opal Lane, situated in the heart of Busselton. A series of murals will be painted by local artists and an unused parking lot will be brought to life.

Champion Lakes Residents Association

Outdoor Environmental Education - a community garden and environmental education program about the flora and fauna at Champion Lakes.

Dunsborough Districts Association

Telstra Block Park Revitalisation - land surrounding an old Telstra building in Dunsborough will be converted into a welcoming parkland where locals and visitors can meet, socialise and relax.

Leighton CAN

The Long Table for Sustainability - a ticketed sunset dinner that will bring the Leighton Beach community together to promote their sustainability progress and the longer-term goals and alignment with the City of Fremantle's One Planet Living Strategy.

Midland Junction Collective

Really, Really Free Markets - two community 'sharing' markets held at the Midland Town Hall where residents bring what they can and take what they need, all for free.

Portside Town Team

Activate Portside - a dynamic series of free community events and workshops which utilise public spaces and local businesses to provide the people of Port Headland with more opportunities to connect with their community.

Subiaction

Subiaco Street Side Gallery - local artists will beautify planter boxes and bollards along Rokeby Road to help bring the street to life and celebrate Subiaco's culture and heritage.

The Bend in the Road

Vic Park Collective

Library of Things - a digital and physical inventory of household tools, toys, equipment and appliances that are volunteered by locals to loan the residents of Victoria Park.

Wellard Village People

Cale Street Festival, Midland

The Cale Street Festival showcased the reinvigorated Cale Street precinct and helpe celebrate summer with family activities, market stalls, live music and food outlets. This free community even encouraged overall positive impact on the greater Midland community, improving social wellbeing, encouraging connections and creating civic pride.

Car Free Day, Victoria Park

The Vic Park Collective held a car free day event on Saturday 17 October 2020. The team closed one car-parking bay on Albany Highway for a day, to activate the space with fake turf, deck chairs, side tables, and board games for the community to use. The group also closed a section of Albany Highway allowing residents to enjoy activities in the main street.

Community Block Party, Subiaco

The Block Party was a community activation bringing together local members to enjoy family entertainment, sharing food, conversation and an enjoyable experience.

Dalyellup Street Party

The Dalyellup Street party, where community enjoyed a range of activities including kids activities, food trucks and live entertainment.

Dijiljit Mia Community Gathering Place, Dunsborough

An Aboriginal-themed, community gathering place (Djiljit Mia) in central Dunsborough incorporates permanent artworks, sculptures and nature-based play features. The Town Team produced a sculpture that is displayed in the gathering place.

Inglenook Furnishings

The Inglenooks established a place for locals and visitors to dwell and retreat from the busy main street. The new furniture provides comfort, flexibility and encourages people to stay longer and socialise with fellow community members, and the chess pieces allow social, mental and physical stimulation for community.

Lighting Laneways, Perth

The project created artistic lighting elements and a mural in three selected laneways to draw people to the Streets at night, improving community safety and creating a safer, more walkable precinct for community members.

Progress Street Pocket Park, Morley

A music series presented by the new Progress Street Pocket Park stage. Activations at the newly renovated park provided an opportunity for local community and businesses to socialise and participant in diverse activities in Morley.

Shuttle bus for Scarborough Beach Markets

A free shuttle bus service that operated in conjunction with the Thursday night Sunset Markets to encourage people to park in underutilised carparks away from the event and avoid congestion for patrons.

Ocean Keys Boulevard street refurbishment

The street beautification project at Ocean Keys Boulevard in Clarkson, near the Clarkson railway station. A mix of local small businesses and residential buildings, the project helped encourage higher levels of foot traffic in the area to benefit the local businesses on this street.

Subilicious Fringe Hub

A new welcoming, vibrant and exciting space, designed to bring the community into the town centre to connect, socialise and support local businesses.

Sunday Series in the Noranda Nook

Sunday Series in the Noranda Nook involved four community picnics in the Noranda Nook community space. The picnics involved performances of local acoustic musicians and showcased the new community facilities available in the area, including the lending library, community billboards and ping pong table.

Verge to Plate Urban Foraging

An urban foraging pilot project in partnership with Town Team Movement, where local families and businesses explored their local area to collect produce from edible gardens and verges.
