The best way to experience one of the greatest natural wonders in the world! An ocean phenomenon where some of the highest tides in the world help to create a horizontal waterfall. As the tide turns each day, the falls reverse and flow in the opposite direction through the narrow gaps in the McLarty Range. Located in the turquoise water of Talbot Bay, Horizontal Falls has been described by naturalist David Attenborough as “one of the greatest wonders of the natural world”.
Accessed by our unique fleet of Seaplanes, Talbot Bay in the Kimberley region of Western Australia is home to our permanent, floating base of houseboats. Set in the bay, right beside the Horizontal Falls, our exclusive position allows you to get up close and personal with this natural wonder as you soar, cruise and stay with Horizontal falls Seaplane Adventures.
Broome to Horizontal Falls Half Day Adventure (6 hour tour)
Experience the incredible Horizontal Falls and pristine beauty of the Kimberley with our flexible half-day tour. Choose between a morning or afternoon departure. Enjoy low level flying over the amazing islands of the Buccaneer Archipelago and Cape Leveque before your seaplane lands safely in the calm waters of Talbot Bay. Your tour continues with an exciting cruise through the Horizontal Waterfalls, plus a relaxed island cruise followed by the shark show and swim in our marine viewing platform.
Inclusions:
- Round-trip scenic seaplane flight from Broome
- Morning or afternoon departure
- An exciting cruise through the Horizontal Falls on a power boat
- Cooked breakfast or lunch on board our floating dining pontoon
- Cruise through the spectacular bays and untouched creek systems of Talbot Bay

Tour timings:
Morning tour pick up from 5am for a departure at 6am. Returns at 11am with hotel drop offs between 11am-11.30am.
Afternoon tour pick up from 11am for a departure at 12pm. Returns at 5pm with hotel drop offs between 5pm-5.30pm.

Overnight Stay (18 hour tour)
Depart from Broome via bus transfer to Derby where you will take a thrilling low-level seaplane flight straight to the heart of Horizontal Falls where our power boat takes you on an exciting cruise through the gorges before spending the remainder of your day cruising the turquoise calm of Talbot Bay.
Swim and snorkel in the crystal-clear water before being welcomed on board our floating houseboat pontoon for an indulgent evening. Enjoy sunset drinks on the deck paired with a dinner of local Barramundi as you stargaze the night sky, nightcap in hand.
Retreat to your private air-conditioned cabin for a restful night and awake to a freshly cooked breakfast as you prepare for the return journey to Broome.

- Bus transfer to Derby from Broome (this will take approx. 2.5 hours)
- Return flights in our seaplane from Derby to Horizontal Falls
- Power boat ride through the Horizontal Falls, plus an extra trip through the Falls in the morning before your departure

Luxury Overnight Stay (24 hour tour)
The Horizontal Falls Seaplane Adventures 24-hour tour is your chance to marvel at the changing directional tides of this sideways waterfall.
Our most luxurious, newly refit vessel, Jetwave Pearl, offers an exclusive accommodation base for a maximum of 20 guests. Enjoy 24 hours of pure excitement with numerous power boat cruises, a guided fishing charter and a relaxing cruise through the crystal blue waters of Talbot Bay and the ancient rock formations of Cyclone Creek.
Cap off the day with our resident shark show and a cooling swim in the marine viewing platform. Savor sunset drinks and appetisers on the rooftop lounge or spacious decks before you dine on the catch of the day and quality local produce.

Neap Tides are part of the normal tidal cycle and occur each month when the sun and moon are at right angles to the earth. During this time, their total gravitational pull on the Earth’s water is weakened because the water flows from two different directions – high tides are lower, and low tides are higher. For this reason, Horizontal Falls Seaplane Adventures does not operate during a neap tide.
