Access Plus WA Deaf Inc

Auslan Road Safety Pilot - An event will be held in May with all aspects of Road Safety explained in Auslan and the launch of our Deaf Awareness and Auslan training for Driving Instructors, Testing Officers and Defensive course instructors.

Doubleview Primary School

How safe is my journey to school? - Lessons about road safety provided to the school students. There will be competitions to identify and demonstrate road hazards, road rules and road safety concepts, as well as flyer distributed in the community identifying a road where several near misses have taken place involving school students. 

City of Wanneroo

Buckle up for National Road Safety Week - Kids Safe WA will present a 'choosing and using child car restraints'' workshop to align with the NRSW "How Safe is Your ride" on the 18th May 2023. These workshops will be held at the City of Wanneroo Libraries: Clarkson, Yanchep, Girrawheen and Wanneroo for anyone who uses child car restraints. 

Gascoyne RoadWise Committee

Stopping in the Gascoyne - Driver Reviver will be set up at Edaggee 24-hour Rest Area & Heavy Vehicle Parking Bay. Those stopping will be greeted with reusable coffee cups, chocolate, apples, and a sausage sizzle.

Harvey Community Radio 96.5fm

Road Safety on Regional Radio - Community road safety campaign will air each day during National Road Safety Week. This will include interviews from professional experts and local groups including Harvey Police, St Johns Ambulance and Harvey Fire and Rescue, Road Safety Commission endorsed messaging, CaLD messaging in Noongar, Italian and Filipino language and an Outside Broadcast via our HCR 96.5fm OB caravan in the main street of Harvey.

Manning Primary School Safe Routes to School - A number of Safe Routes to school will be designed and implemented. This will be launched at a school assembly, followed by a ride/walk to school breakfast. Students will also participate in road safety workshops and the “Your Move” program to help make changes sustainable and fun.
Newman Neighbourhood Centre Inc
Newman SOCK Bike Bonanza - A community event will be held to provide local people with fluro high vis vests and bike lights for increased safety. Bike and tyre repairs will also be available to ensure all bikes are road worthy and safe. Local schools will also run a 'Fluro Friday' where kids will wear fluro to school to increase awareness of road safety and being seen on the road.
Ngarliyarndu Bindirri Aboriginal Corporation Driver Safety - Community event to provide driver safety education and showcase ""Marijauna"" Goggles and Drink driving Goggles. The Department of Transport will also be there to support any applications/provide information on tests and licensing requirements.
Quairading Community Resource Centre Inc.
Quairading Outdoor Movie Night - A series of short road safety videos shown at the outdoor cinema ahead of a family friendly feature film. The event will promote road safety messages with free refreshments for designated drivers and a road safety pledge wall. After the movie concludes, there will be a group stretch and revive session before people head home.
Shire of Boddington Walk Safely to School - Students, teachers and families from Boddington District High School  and representatives from local organisations will be invited to meet at Hotham Park in Boddington for breakfast, before embarking on a community walk to Boddington District High School as a public expression of support and raising awareness of key messages around National Road Safety Week.
Shire of Boyup Brook
Young People staying Safe on their Wheels - The Boyup Brook District High School (BBDHS) will run a mini marathon for their school students, accompanied by a road safety expert guest speaker, and tips and advice from key community representatives.
Shire of Carnarvon Carnarvon's National Road Safety Week - The Shire will run several events across the week to boost road safety awareness within the community, including the Carnarvon Civic Centre lit in yellow for the week, a crash simulation event and National Road Safety Week themed growers markets.
Shire of Cunderdin

Road safe in Cunderdin & Meckering - With support from the Cunderdin Community Resource Centre (CRC) and Cunderdin Youth Council, a full week of activities is planned, including a visual arts workshop, Road Safety morning tea, Youth Group night, and a 'Walk Safely to Scool' session.

Shire of Kent

Safety Brewed at the Pingrup Silos - A coffee and cake day at the silo art tourist attraction in Pingrup. Shire of Kent representatives will be there to provide safety resources and information to tourists to foster the safety message on regional roads. The silo art will be lit up in yellow all week to further encourage the road safety message.

Shire of Leonora Leonora Emergency Service Open DayLive demonstrations by local emergency services of the consequences of road traffic accidents and how they are dealt with. There will also be a road safety themed yellow lunch provided to community members who attend the day.
Shire of Williams Have a rest to send a text - A community day which includes market stalls, a free BBQ and family activities for the anyone that stops for a break at The Lions Park. All local emergency services and WAPOL will be present to do car seat safety checks. There will also be tyre changing demonstrations during the event. The tree lights will also be lit yellow throughout the entire week.
Shire of Wongan Ballidu Drive to Stay Alive Community Jive - Acommunity BBQ to unveil the road safety bench made to raise awareness of road safety and driving with fatigue. The bench incorporates the road safety ribbon along with car parts to endorse a road safety message as well as bike parts as we "share our roads". Ten ribbons will be welded into the bench to symbolise lives lost on roads within the Shire of Wongan-Ballidu.
Shire of Yalgoo Yalgoo Road Safety Education & Awareness - This Project intends to raise driver awareness of regional road safety through lighting up the Yalgoo Railway Building yellow, and educating young people on road rules and safety through engaging activities undertaken in collaboration with Yalgoo Primary School and Yalgoo Police and based on the NRSW daily themes.
Surfing Western Australia Inc. WA Longboard Surfing Championships - Surfing WA will host a festive BBQ at the Ocean Beach Surf Club during the WA Longboard Surfing Championships in Denmark on 20 May 2023. Local Police and a Roadwise representative will be present to talk to competitors and families about National Road Safety Week.
Walpole Community Resource Centre Walpole Road Safety Week on Bikes - Bike workshops will be run at the local bike pump track followed by a ride through the streets of Walpole then into the local bushlands via the Mundi Biddi Trail on bikes. This event will teach road safety awareness on bikes and build awareness of possible dangers on the roads. There will be an accredited mountain bike coach in attendance, local Police and volunteers.
Wyalkatchem Community Resource Centre Inc. Road Safe Wylie - Local mechanic and tyre repair shop will speak to the community about vehicle maintenance. Local transport company will also attend to allow people to sit in the driver's seat and get an idea of what a truck driver can actually see in front of his vehicle and encouraging drivers to give trucks adequate space. The event will wrap up with a free sausage sizzle.
York Community Resource Centre Community Safety Day - The York CRC carpark and Peace Park turned into an interactive, hands on, community inclusive project with the following activities, programs and attractions available: road safety bike track, remembrance wall, crash display by the York police, RAC Rescue experience, St John Ambulance experience, car check stations, free face paintings and rides, and a free sausage sizzle.

Augusta Margaret River Football Club

The Augusta Margaret River Football club will dedicate their Saturday May 21 game day to build awareness on regional road safety and initiate the conversation with players, members, supporters and the broader community.

City of Kwinana Child & Adolescent Health

The inaugural "Wheely Safe Kulunga's!" morning tea event will educate the community on a range of topics, such as car seat safety and fitting, driveway safety, looking both ways and helmet safety.

City of Stirling

The city will be running two free community workshops - Ride Right, focusing on rider awareness and crash avoidance, motorcycle safety gear and safe riding speeds, whilst Tuned up for What provides driver development and vehicle purchasing education.

Narembeen Community Resource Centre

A morning tea at Narembeen's The Co Op on Monday May 16 will encourage residents to "Take the pledge to drive so others survive". Those who pledge will be treated to a complimentary cupcake and coffee cup.

Shire of Boddington

A "Walk to school" day on Friday May 20 will see students, teachers and families meet at the shire for a complimentary breakfast before embarking on the walk to Boddington District Senior High School.

Shire of Cunderdin

The Shire will be running a series of activities, including a colouring in and bin sticker design competition to help educate kids on road safety. On Saturday May 21, a coffee pit stop on Main Street will offer drivers a free coffee and cookie for those who take the pledge.

Shire of Kellerberrin

A fun community bike rally has been organised for the community on Thursday May 19 followed by "Coffee with a Cop" at Centenary Park, a chance for a friendly interaction between local police and residents to learn more about road safety.

Shire of Derby West Kimberley

The Shire has organised a series of initiatives, including the light up of a Boab Tree, Driver Reviver station and local media campaign to promote pedestrian safety.

Shire of Wyndham East Kimberley

A free community breakfast barbeque on Thursday May19 will be held at Whitegum Park to encourage local residents to walk or ride to school/work.

Toodyay Playgroup

The Toodyay playgroup have enlisted the support of Kidsafe to conduct a safety talk and demonstration on Tuesday May 17 to parents regarding the importance of car seat installation.

WestCycle Incorporated

In recognition of the theme "Share the Road", Westcycle have organised a free community breakfast from 9am on Saturday May 21 at South Perth Foreshor to raise awareness about road sharing with cyclists and motorists.

York Community Resource Centre

A free community event at Avon Park on Saturday May 21 will celebrate the opening of the new skate park, with road safety education sessions from local police, skateboarding stunt shows and live music.
