RAC Karri Valley Resort has had its first renovation in over two decades, with guests now able to enjoy the traditional charm of forest and lake view accommodation with a modern lift.

RAC Executive General Manager Brand and Tourism, Tony Pickworth said the $5.7 million redevelopment had been a major focus since RAC’s acquisition of the resort 18 months ago.

“Having been untouched for many years, our priority throughout these refurbishments was to ensure the venue’s rich history and unique characteristics were preserved and enriched for Western Australians to enjoy for years to come,” Mr Pickworth said.

“All of our lake and forest view chalets have been updated and feature new furnishings, appliances and interiors, with a new contemporary reception area welcoming guests at the other side of Vasse Highway.”

Established in 1983 as a shared-accommodation lodge, the resort has welcomed WA holidaymakers for more than three decades.

“The resort has always been a wonderful spot for families, and these exciting changes have transformed the resort while maintaining its charm, delivering an improved guest experience for our members and the wider WA community,” Mr Pickworth said.

The Lakeside restaurant has recently updated its menu celebrating local, unique flavours, and with the ability to seat up to 120 guests or 180 cocktail-style, the property now also caters for weddings.

“The Lakeside Restaurant has undergone extensive refurbishments, and includes an extension into a relaxed lounge area, indoor fireplace and spectacular views of Lake Beedelup,” Mr Pickworth said.

“Additionally, further works to include a caravan and camping area at RAC Karri Valley Resort are expected to take place later this year, giving guests more options to tailor their experience.

“By continuing to expand the amount of quality accommodation options in popular tourism destinations like Karri Valley, RAC aims to encourage our members and the community to put WA top of the list when planning their next getaway.”

RAC members will receive up to 20 per cent discount on accommodation and guests will also be able to use RAC’s ‘lay‐by’ system to book their holiday and pay it off in instalments.
