Western Australians are embracing the buy now-pay later initiative, with RAC Parks & Resorts reporting one in five holiday bookings have been made using its new lay-by option.
RAC Executive General Manager of Brand & Tourism, Tony Pickworth, said after the launch of RAC Parks and Resorts’ new lay-by payment system in September of this year, 22 per cent of WA holidays have been booked on lay-by.
“These lay-by stays have been booked at RAC’s Parks and Resorts in Exmouth, Monkey Mia, Busselton, Coral Bay, Cervantes and the newly acquired Karri Valley Resort,” Mr Pickworth said.
“Rather than paying upfront ahead of the typically expensive Christmas period, guests have been able to make pre-payments on their Christmas holidays for bookings starting at $200.
“There are no hidden charges or extra fees to use the lay-by option, it simply allows us to help guests budget the cost of family holidays and enjoy affordable, quality accommodation in some of our State’s most beautiful places.
“We are committed to making holidays more affordable for our members and the WA community, regardless of whether they choose to camp at an unpowered site, stay in their caravan or book a stay in a self-contained villa.”
“Helping members to see and enjoy our wonderful State is a key priority for RAC, and is part of its continued commitment to invest in WA tourism.”
