How are batteries recycled?

You can recycle your old lead-acid batteries by dropping them into any RAC Auto Services Centre to be passed on for recycling. We will then pass your battery on to a licenced recycling facility. RAC recycles more than 50,000 batteries each year. We want to see WA’s battery recycling rate at 100 per cent, to keep old batteries out of landfill and reduce any impacts on our environment. The good news is that over 97 percent of lead-acid batteries components can be recycled.
