What is an AGM battery?

AGM batteries have an output higher than a calcium battery, making them suitable for hybrid cars or stop-start vehicles. The acid in an AGM battery is completely absorbed into glass mat separators, which are sandwiched between the negative and positive plates. The battery is sealed and designed to be maintenance-free, and the sandwich-style construction gives it an excellent resistance to vibration. Calcium has been added by manufactures for many years.
