Eligible pets

• Only cats and dogs will be deemed as valid entries.
• There are no age restrictions for your pet.
• We love all pets whether they are alive or no longer with us, but any deceased pets won’t be eligible to win weekly or major prizes.

Submitting your entry

• Competition opens Tuesday 8 March 2022, 8.00am and runs until Tuesday 5 April 2022, 4.00pm. You are only able to enter during this time.
• You can only enter once. Any duplicate entries will not be considered for any prize.
• You must upload a photo and complete all mandatory details to be deemed as a valid entrant.
• If you’re entering a photo through Instagram, your account must be public for us to approve your entry and remain public for the duration of the competition.
• Instagram pictures must appear in your recent feed for the upload to work, we recommend re-posting if it is an older photo.

Why your entry may be rejected

• Videos, photos of photos and collages won’t be accepted as valid entries.
• Photos that capture more than one pet won’t be accepted.
• As we support that safety of animals travelling in vehicles, any entries of pets in vehicles without the appropriate restraints won’t be accepted.
• Photos that contain logos, brands and / or watermarks won’t be accepted.
• Photos that are heavily edited won’t be accepted. This includes filters, text overlays and emojis for example.

Entry confirmation

• You will receive a confirmation email within 1hr of submitting your entry. If you don’t receive your confirmation email, check your junk folder – if you’re still unable to locate it, reach out to us at petsearch@rac.com.au with your first name and the email address you entered with.
• Once your entry has been successfully submitted, it will go through a review process which may take up to 72hrs. We’ll be checking to ensure it complies with competition guidelines. If it is compliant, your entry will be approved and uploaded to the Pet Search gallery. If your entry is rejected, we will notify you via email.

Competition announcements and judging

• There is no public voting in this competition. Weekly winners will be judged and selected by RAC staff. Major prize winners will be judged and selected by a panel of RAC members and staff.
• Weekly competition winners and major prize winners will be contacted via email and/or phone. Winners will also be announced on RAC WA’s Facebook page and competition page.
• Major prize winners will be announced on RAC WA’s Facebook page on 13 April 2022. Major prize winners will also be contacted via email and/or phone.

The star of the show

Must be a cat or dog.

Must be one pet per picture. 

Must be the original picture, your entry cannot be a picture of a picture.

Photo treatment

Pictures cannot be manipulated. This includes; shapes, text, emoji's and obvious filters.

Safety first

As we support the safety of animals travelling in vehicles, any entries of pets in vehicles without the appropriate restraints will not be eligible for a prize.

Pictures cannot have watermarks.

• How do I enter?
  - Competition opens on Tuesday 8 March 2022, 8.00am. Once open, you’ll be able to enter via this page. You’ll need to upload a photo of your pet, provide mandatory details and accept the competition terms and conditions.

  - No, only one entry per user will be accepted.

  - No, only cats and dogs will be considered as valid entries to the competition.
  
  
• I don’t have Facebook or Instagram; so how do I enter?
  - You can upload a photo from your mobile camera roll or your desktop
  
  
• I’ve entered the wrong photo; can I change the photo once it’s submitted?
  - Yes, send us an email on petsearch@rac.com.au with your first name and the email address you entered with. We can delete your entry so that you can re-submit.
  
  
• Where can I view my pet’s entry?
  - The Pet Search gallery features all approved entrants. A link to your entry is included in your confirmation email.
  
  
• I haven’t received my confirmation email

• What’s the criteria for the RAC member panel to select the two major prize winners?
  - The judges will select their top dog and cat entry from all entries approved in the Pet Search 2022. Judges will be looking for entries that showcase the pet’s personality; photos seen as funny, adorable, charming or cheeky for example.
  
  
• Can I win the major prize if I won a weekly prize?
  - Yes, all approved entries including the weekly prize winners are eligible to win the major prizes.
  
  
• Can I exchange my weekly prize for cash?
  - No, prizes are not redeemable for cash. You can choose not to accept any weekly or major prize.
  
  
• How do I share my entry with my friends and family?
  - Sharing the competition is easy, share by using the share links at the top of this page.
  
  
• Can my friends vote for my entry?
  - No, to ensure fairness for all pets, judging is left in the hands of the RAC member panel and RAC staff.
