No, screenshots can’t be used to redeem member rewards. The barcode on your member card must be provided from your mobile wallet or myRAC.
Digital card
A digital membership card is a digital version of your RAC membership card.
To use your card, all you need to do is add it to your mobile wallet.
Show your card in-store at participating retailers and service providers to redeem member benefits, such as discounts and special offers.
In general, the simplest way to access your digital card is by double-pressing the side key on your iPhone or Samsung phone. For other Android devices, you’ll need to manually find and click on the Google Wallet app to open it.
Adding your digital membership card to your mobile wallet is easy.
If you received an email with a link to download your digital membership card, simply click the link to download it to your Apple or Google Wallet on your mobile device.
Otherwise, log in to myRAC.
At the top of your screen, you’ll see your digital membership card displayed next to your name. Tap Add your card to your mobile wallet.
Follow the steps to add the card to your Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.
There could be a few reasons.
First, check your mobile wallet to confirm the card isn’t there.
Your card may not have been successfully added to your wallet. Once you’ve clicked on the link to download your card, make sure you press Add. If you don’t, the card won’t appear in your mobile wallet.
Or, your card might be inactive if you cancelled or didn’t renew your membership or policy.
If you still can’t access your digital card, please check you aren’t using a virtual protected network (VPN). Also check that your browser meets browser criteria and doesn’t contain ad blocker plug-ins.
Compatible devices include Apple iPhone 5s and SEs and above with iOS 10 and above, or Androids with operating system 9 and above.
Digital membership cards can only be added to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.
These digital wallets may be preinstalled on your device. However, for some Android devices, you may need to download the Google Wallet app.
If your mobile device isn’t compatible with Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, you won’t be able to access your digital membership card in a mobile wallet. However, if your device can connect to the internet, you can view your card in myRAC in your browser.
Otherwise, you can request a plastic card to access your RAC discounts
If your membership tier has changed, you don’t need to do anything. Your new membership tier will automatically be reflected on your digital membership card and updated in myRAC.
If the barcode is greyed out, this means your digital membership card is inactive. You won’t be able to use it to redeem any member benefits.
Your digital membership card will only stay active as long as you maintain or renew your RAC policies and products. So, if your card is greyed out, it may be because you decided to cancel or not renew your membership or policy.
For Android users: When your digital membership card deactivates, it will appear in the Archived passes section. When it’s reactivated, it will reappear in the Active passes section.
For iOS users: When your digital membership card deactivates, its barcode will be greyed out. Depending on your device, it may also move to the Expired passes section. When it’s reactivated, the barcode will become available again. Depending on your device, you may need to take extra steps to re-add the card to your mobile wallet.
