Day 1: Arrive Auckland
Arrive in Auckland, New Zealand’s largest city known for its harbours, volcanoes, and vibrant energy. Collect your rental car and explore the ‘City of Sails’ at your leisure. Enjoy views from the Sky Tower, stroll along the Viaduct, or relax in one of the many cafes and parks.

Day 2: Drive to Bay of Islands
Begin your journey northward to the Bay of Islands, a subtropical haven of turquoise water and over 140 islands. Upon arrival in Paihia, settle in and enjoy the peaceful coastal surroundings, perhaps taking a stroll along the waterfront or a short ferry ride to Russell.

Day 3: Hole in the Rock Cruise
Today, take to the sea on a scenic Hole in the Rock Cruise. Journey through the Bay of Islands’ crystal-clear waters, weaving past remote islands and wildlife. Cruise out to Cape Brett and through the iconic Hole in the Rock formation – a thrilling natural arch if sea conditions allow.

Day 4: Drive to Auckland
Depart the Bay of Islands and return to Auckland. Take your time along the way, with optional stops in Whangarei or Matakana. Once back in the city, unwind with a walk along the harbour or a dinner with skyline views.

Day 5: Drive to Rotorua via Hobbiton Movie Set Tour
Leave Auckland behind and journey to Rotorua, stopping en route for a magical tour of the Hobbiton Movie Set in Matamata. Explore the Shire’s iconic film locations and enjoy a drink at the Green Dragon Inn before continuing to Rotorua – a city famous for its geothermal activity and rich Māori culture.

Day 6: Wai Ariki Spa - Restorative Journey
Indulge in a two-hour Restorative Journey at Wai Ariki Spa, Rotorua’s luxurious wellness retreat. Inspired by traditional Māori healing and the region’s natural geothermal waters, this spa experience offers deep relaxation, rejuvenation, and connection to the land.

Day 7: Drive to Napier
Depart Rotorua and travel southeast to Napier, New Zealand’s Art Deco capital. Pass through forested ranges and fertile valleys on your way to this seaside city. Once there, admire the 1930s architecture, palm-lined boulevards, and artistic vibe that make Napier so unique.

Day 8: City & Wine Tour - Hawke's Bay Scenic Tours
Today, enjoy a guided City & Wine Tour with Hawke’s Bay Scenic Tours. Discover Napier’s Art Deco heritage, panoramic viewpoints, and some of the region’s finest wineries. Taste award-winning reds and whites while soaking in views of vineyards and rolling countryside.

Day 9: Drive to Wellington
Travel south to Wellington, New Zealand’s compact and creative capital. The scenic drive takes you through Manawatu and past the rugged Tararua Ranges. Upon arrival, explore the buzzing waterfront, national museums, and vibrant laneways.

Day 10: Depart Wellington
Your journey concludes in Wellington. Check out of your accommodation, return your car, and make your way to the airport. Take with you memories of stunning coastlines, cultural experiences, and the warm hospitality of the North Island.
