Call for nominations for election to the Board of The Royal Automobile Club of W.A. Limited
Nominations are now being called from eligible Voting Members for election to two (2) Elected Director positions on the RAC Board.
The nominations period opens on Friday, 10 July 2026 at 08:00 AWST and closes on Thursday, 6 August 2026 at 17:00 AWST.
For the eligibility requirements for election as a Director and the selection process, please refer to the Constitution and Regulations available on our website.
For the 2026 election, the Board has identified the below skills, experience and attributes as relevant to Directors of the RAC Board.
General governance skills/experience
Applicants are expected to be able to demonstrate the following:
- Experience at Board level in sophisticated governance structures.
- Understanding of the characteristics of mutuals and the governance requirements relevant to mutuals.
- Completion of formal qualification/training in governance.
- Formal tertiary qualifications and/or membership of a professional body that required continuing professional development (e.g. a current CAANZ, CPA, AICD, GIA etc.)
- Ability to read and comprehend corporate accounts.
- Appropriate understanding of legal and commercial concepts and frameworks applicable to a public company such as the RAC.
- Experience in implementing, managing or overseeing risk management and compliance frameworks.
- Expertise in strategic planning and strategy monitoring with a demonstrated track record in creating value.
- Experience in interpretation and analysis of data.
RAC industry specific skills and experience
Applicants are expected to be able to demonstrate experience in at least one of the following:
- Experience with social impact organisations which focus on improving outcomes for different cohorts within society.
- Experience in mobility, transportation infrastructure research, policy or marketing as it pertains to road safety.
- Understanding and experience in researching and developing public policy at a State and National level.
- Experience as a school, training or tertiary educator and experience in the development and implementation of education programs.
