Notification for Renter’s Insurance policies with an expiry date from March 25, 2021 onwards
If your Renter’s Insurance policy has an expiry date from March 25, 2021 onwards, at renewal you will be offered RAC Basic Contents Insurance. Renewals for RAC Renter’s Insurance were discontinued on March 24, 2021 and replaced by RAC Basic Contents Insurance. New policies for RAC Renter’s Insurance were discontinued on February 25, 2021.

RAC use and require your personal information to consider your insurance application and any subsequent application for insurance and to issue your policy. We also use your personal information in the course of administering and managing the products and services you and other members have with us, including for dealing with any complaints and claims. This may include the use of your details to administer a claim by another party. For the purposes of doing so, your personal information may be passed to, or received from, a joint policyholder, RAC’s assessors, investigators, repairers, suppliers and/or contractors, other insurance companies, insurance reference bureaus, law enforcement agencies, our related companies, legal and professional advisers, IT providers, and their agents, some of whom may be overseas.
We may also use your personal information to tell You about other RAC Group products and services. Your personal information may be passed to other entities for promotional purposes. These entities may be associated with Us, operate under RAC’s Brand, or be agents, contractors or allied organisations. You may tell Us not to use your personal information for these promotional purposes at any time by contacting us on 13 17 03.
If the interest of a financier is noted on your policy, You consent to Us providing details of your policy and its currency to the financier.

Basic contents insurance FAQ
Our Renter’s Insurance product underwent a name change as we now offer this product to owner-occupiers as well.
There has been no changes to the events covered or the contents we will cover. There has been some changes to policy wording & features. Please refer to the Basic Contents Insurance PDS to make sure this product is right for you.
You don’t need to resupply any of your details when you transition from RAC Renter’s Insurance to RAC Basic Contents Insurance, you just need to confirm all of the details on your schedule are correct and advise us if anything has changed.
If you claimed the online discount for RAC Renter’s Insurance, you will not be eligible to claim it again when you transition to RAC Basic Contents Insurance.
Your policy remains active until the expiry date and time on your current insurance schedule. Our decision to transition this product will not impact on any current or future claims for your current period of insurance. Nothing affects any rights you have under the policy during its period of insurance.
