Trenitalia
Trenitalia is Italy's national rail carrier. It operates many different trains, including high-speed Frecciarossa, Frecciabianca and Frecciargento trains, slower InterCity and regional services and sleeper trains.
Amenities
Luggage Guidelines:Trenitalia does not have any restrictions on the number of luggage items that can be taken onboard.
Check-in Times: No check-in as such, although doors will close two minutes before departure.

- Frecciarossa trains offer a restaurant- or café-car.
- Frecciargento trains offer trolley-service and café-car.
- Frecciabianca trains offer refreshment trolley service.
- InterCity trains may offer refreshment trolley service.
- No refreshment services available on regional trains.

- Frecciarossa trains have four classes of service.
Standard – Seats arranged 2+2 in tables of four. Free Wi-Fi.
Premium – Same layout as Standard. Complimentary welcome drink.
Business/First – Larger seats arranged 2+1. Complimentary welcome drink.

- Frecciarargento and Freccibianca trains have two classes of travel.
Standard and Business which are the same configuration as offered on Frecciarossa trains.
- InterCity trains consist of both Standard and First with open plan or compartment-style accommodation.
- Regional trains offer Standard accommodation, and no seat reservations are necessary.
Notable Scenery: Journeys heading close to the coastline, such between Naples and Sicily and on the Cinque Terre between Levanto and La Spezia offer great sea views.

Day 1: Your journey begins in Venice
Welcome to Venice! On arrival, check-in at your hotel for a two-night stay. More than any other city in the world, Venice's reputation precedes it. If you have not been before you are in for a treat, because this destination more than lives up to expectations.

Day 2: Venice
This morning, make your way to St Mark’s Square for the start of your small group tour to the Doges Palace, and mesmerizing Golden Basilica. Following this, it is a guided walking tour through the quieter lanes and alleys, where you will see some architectural gems and historical buildings that are often overlooked by the crowds.

Day 3: Venice to Florence
Following breakfast, get ready to embark on your next train to the Renaissance of Art - Florence! Enjoy the last views of the glistening canals before finding yourself winding through the stunning Italian countryside before arriving in Florence. Make your way to your hotel and check-in.

Day 4: Florence
After breakfast, make your way to your walking tour and visit the world-famous Uffizi and Accademia galleries. The Uffizi Gallery is one of the most renowned art museums n the world. Inside, you will encounter a stunning collection of Renaissance masterpieces, including works by Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, and Titian. The Accademia Gallery, is home to one of the most iconic sculptures in the world, Michelangelo's David. Absorb all Florence has to offer as you walk the cobbled streets and admire the cathedrals.

Day 5: Florence to Cinque Terre
From Florence, travel along the coast to La Spezia, then change for a short and wonderfully scenic regional train ride to Manarola. You will be met and shown to your own apartment. Along the way, your guide will give you all the information you need for your stay, as well as some suggestions as to what to do and some great restaurants. They will also present you with your Cinque Terre card which will cover any trip in the region during your stay. In the afternoon venture to an ancient wine cellar in Manarola for a warm welcome, and tastings of local wines and nibbles.

Day 6: Cinque Terre
Today is a day to spend as you please, be it hiking the famous coastal path and enjoying the breath-taking views, riding the local train (covered by your Cinque Terre Card) visiting each of the five gorgeous villages, or simply relaxing in your apartment and living life like a local. In the evening, enjoy a sunset cruise from Manarola – a perfect and romantic tour to highlight the beauty of the Cinque Terre architecture from the coastline.
Day 7: Cinque Terre
Another day in paradise today, and the full day is yours at leisure. Speak to any of our Rail experts should you like a tour of the local vineyards, or to take to the water for lunch or dinner with an amazing view.
Day 8: Cinque Terre to Rome
Hop on the local train to La Spezia, then continue along the coast to Rome for a two-night stay. Once checked in, head out to enjoy the rest of the day at your own pace. Explore the riches of the Barberini Museum, visit the ancient Pantheon, or enjoy an aperitif on the elegant Piazza Navona before dinner.

Day 9: Rome
Following breakfast, make your way over to the Colosseum for a guided tour of the famous Amphitheatre, then walk in the footsteps of ancient Romans once more with a guided stroll around the Roman Forum. These amazing ruins were for centuries the center of day-to-day life in Rome. Afterwards, why not head over to the Trevi Fountain or Spanish Steps and see more of the famous sightseeing attractions. Make time to stop for Gelato or Cacio E Pepe!

Day 10: Rome to Sorrento
Your journey to the Amalfi Coast begins with a train from Rome to Naples, where your private driver will meet you at the station. Enjoy a drive along the coast before arriving at your hotel for a three-night stay. The rest of the day is yours at leisure.

Day 11: Day trip to Amalfi Coast

With tips from your knowledgeable guide, enjoy leisure time in each town to stroll narrow cobblestone streets and shop for unique handmade goods.

Day12: Day Trip to Pompeii & Mt Vesuvius
Get ready for another day of exploring today, this time with a visit to Pompeii and Mt Vesuvius! Meet your driver-guide today and enjoy Skip-The-Line access to these historic sights. After a relaxed stroll around the archaeological site of the ancient city of Pompeii, take a short hike up to the rim of the volcano to meet a mountain guide and peer into the crater’s rim.

Day 13: Your Journey Ends in Sorrento
After breakfast, this morning your driver will pick you up at your Sorrento hotel, taking you to Naples Airport to continue your travels. If you would like to extend your vacation to another city, just ask your Rail Expert and we can help you make all the arrangements.
