Federal Priorities

Safer regional roads

• Ensure the existing Regional Road Safety Program is fully funded and delivered.
• Co-fund a new program applying low-cost safety treatments to approximately 8,000 kilometres of high speed sealed local government roads in WA.

Safer speeds

• Establish a speed limit signage fund that enables local governments to implement safer speed limits.

Improved active transport

• Direct 10% of the transport capital budget toward the National Active Transport Fund to support substantial mode shift.

Cleaner transport

• Continue the Fringe Benefit Tax exemption or alternative financial incentive for EVs.
• Continued funding for fleet and/or public EV charging infrastructure.
• Incorporate key amenities including lighting, CCTV and shelters into all charging stations on the National EV Charging Network.
