RAC is calling on the WA Government to commit to projects and initiatives critical for WA.
These will save lives, create thousands of jobs and deliver a safer, sustainable and connected Western Australia.
Safer regional roads
- Ensure the existing Regional Road Safety Program is fully funded and delivered.
- Co-fund a new program applying low-cost safety treatments to over 8,000 kilometres of high speed sealed local government roads.
Safer speeds
- Establish and fund a program led by Main Roads WA that enables local governments to assess speed limits across their road network and implement safer limits.
Improved active transport
- Direct 10% of the transport capital budget toward active transport infrastructure to ensure the Long Term Cycle Network is completed within a decade.
More affordable transport
- Freeze motor vehicle registration fees and public transport fares for three years to make the cost of transport more affordable.
Cleaner transport
- Extend the Zero Emission Vehicle rebate scheme for a further two years.
- Fund a second phase of the WA EV network program to provide more public chargers and enhance amenities.
