At RAC, we offer car servicing and repairs that you can trust. We insist on fully qualified mechanics and all services include a 6 month 10,000km warranty. We also offer a convenient mobile mechanic service that will come to your home or workplace.

Yes, you do not need to be a member to have your car serviced or repaired with us. But if you sign up to become an RAC member you’ll receive a 10% discount on labour performed by RAC.

Our commitment to quality car servicing and repairs means that we will only use high quality vehicle parts. Generally, aftermarket parts are fitted if available, however genuine parts can be used if aftermarket are unavailable or if requested.

No, but we can help by identifying any urgent works and those that can be carried out at a later date.

Yes, any technician that works on your vehicle is fully qualified, or if they are an apprentice they are always supervised by an experienced, qualified mechanic. We pride ourselves on providing quality car servicing and repairs you can trust.

For private-use vehicles, our services and new parts are protected by a warranty of 6 months or 10,000km (whichever occurs first) from the date they are provided. For commercial use vehicles, the warranty is for 3 months or 6,000km (whichever occurs first) from the date they are provided.

We have three car servicing options:

• Essentials: Includes oil and filter change, battery condition report, lighting and electrical inspection, brake check, fluids top-up, full safety check, free wash and vacuum.^
• Essentials Plus: Includes everything in Essentials, plus air filter replacement, tyre rotation and wheel balance. Recommended every second service.
• Logbook servicing: We service new cars to maintain your new car warranty.

You can obtain a quote for your Essentials, Essentials Plus or Logbook service either online or by calling on 13 17 03. We will always contact you if any additional work needs to be done and we will only begin repairs once you provide your approval.

Both our Essentials and Essentials Plus services offer the same base features such as brake checks, safety check and oil filter change.

In addition, with an Essentials Plus service you’ll also receive an air filter replacement, tyre rotation and wheel balance.

You can book your service online via our online car service quote tool. It is very important to have your vehicle registration on hand as this will ensure you are quoted the correct price for your vehicle type.

RAC Tow & Repair is our exclusive service for RAC Roadside Assistance members. In the case of a breakdown in the Perth metro area, we’ll get you back on the road sooner by towing your car to the nearest RAC Auto Services centre for a free fault diagnosis, estimate and repair following your approval.

Generally, we recommend you drop your car off first thing in the morning. If you would like to drop off your vehicle later, please call the centre to enquire. Our Auto Services centres open from 8:00am Monday to Friday, with selected centres open 8:00am - 12:00pm on Saturday. Check our opening times.

Our Mobile Mechanic van will conveniently come to your home or workplace on weekdays within selected Perth Metro areas. It is important to note that mobile car servicing, repairs and inspections can only be performed on safe, even working ground.

Our mobile mechanic can perform the same service items you would receive at our centres for Logbook and Essentials services, however Essentials Plus service is unavailable due to the wheel rotation and balance that must be performed with a hoist at our fixed centres. The mobile mechanic also doesn’t include and wash and vacuum in either of the service options.

Yes. RAC’s expert mechanics carry out all our vehicle inspections both through mobile mechanics and at our fixed sites. You will be provided with a full report on the vehicle’s general condition and safety components including; Engine, Under body, Brakes, Tyres, Battery and charging system, Lighting and Interior components*. We also perform a free vehicle history check valued at $36.95 which looks for outstanding finance, odometer accuracy, past thefts or write-offs and includes a vehicle valuation. *T&Cs apply.

Note: Pre-purchase vehicle inspection is different from a road-worthy inspection, which involves taking your vehicle to an authorised Department of Transport inspection centre for a road-worthy certificate to either, have a defect notice removed or inspect an unregistered vehicle for registration. RAC does not perform road-worthy inspections.

A logbook service is when your car is serviced in accordance with the vehicle manufacturer specifications. At certain time intervals, it is recommended that certain components and fluids in the vehicle are checked and/or replaced. If your car is under warranty, then you must service the vehicle in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations to maintain your warranty.

You can find when you need your next logbook service by checking your vehicle logbook which is usually with your car documents. Generally, a logbook service is required on a specific mileage or time, whichever comes first e.g. 20,000km or 12 months.

No, you don’t need to get your car serviced at the dealer to maintain warranty. This has been confirmed by the ACCC. RAC Auto Services is fully qualified to carry out Logbook services to protect your warranty.

Best practice is to follow the servicing requirements of your vehicle’s manufacturer. You can find this in the owner’s manual. These may be specific to Western Australia due to the hot conditions and how vehicles operate in during summer.

Performing your own car maintenance can potentially void your warranty. The ACCC has set out some minimum standards when it comes to warranties. The following three conditions must be met:

1. The person performing the service must be a qualified mechanic
2. All of the services must be performed to the manufacture’s specifications
3. You need to use the appropriate quality parts; these don’t have to be genuine parts carrying the manufacturer’s brand, but they must be fit for purpose
