How do I get my car insurance certificate of currency?
A Certificate of Currency is a document that confirms a current policy is in place as of the date of issue, and lists the details of the insurance policy. It is often required by Third parties to provide evidence that you have the appropriate cover for the asset or business.
Step 1: Log in to myRAC
Log in to myRAC. If you don’t already have a myRAC account, you'll need to register first.
Step 2: Select ‘Get certificate of currency’
Scroll down to your policy and click on Manage, from the drop down list select Get certificate of currency.
Step 3: Go to ‘Get certificate of currency’
Choose the motor policy you want to get the certificate for and click Get certificate of currency.
Step 4: Your car
Confirm whether or not this is the right make or model. Then select Next to continue.
If you’ve updated your car, select No, it isn’t, and find your car by registration or make and model.
Step 5: Confirm your car details
Here, you can update your car details such as modifications and finance. Then select Next to continue.
Step 6: Car usage
Here, you can update your car usage information such as what you use your car for, the address where your car is kept and the kilometres driven. Then select Next to continue.
Step 7: Renewal amount
Select whether you’d like to pay monthly or annually, and check out the difference between the two. Or change the excess and your agreed value to see how this affects the amount you pay. Then select Next to continue.
