The Karijini Experience
Now in its fifth year, The Karijini Experience hosted in Karijini National Park, is a program of events that aims to raise the profile of Inland Pilbara, through delivering intimate, authentic, once-in-a-lifetime experiences. Held on the traditional lands of the Banjima people, within Karijini National Park, the Karijini Experience is a celebration of environmental protection, connection and culture.
The 2017 Karijini Experience program extends across five days from Tuesday April 11 till Saturday April 15. Timed to coincide with the school holidays and the perfect Pilbara weather, the 2017 Karijini Experience has lots of opportunity for the whole family to get involved. As the event offers a personalised program of workshops, performances, tours and social events, the Karijini Experience is sure to inspire and entertain.
Karijini National Park
Karijini National Park is considered to be in the top five of visitor experiences in WA, famous for its dramatic creeks and waterways, waterfalls, spectacular gorges and towering sheer sided chasms.
Covering 627,422 hectares just north of the Tropic of Capricorn in the Hamersley Range, Karijini National Park is Western Australia’s second largest park. The park is an iconic unspoiled nature-based destination, offering a unique and diverse landscape and an unforgettable West Australian outback experience.
Ensure you contact the Karijini Visitor Centre for any questions relating to your visit. Upon arrival the Visitor Centre is located just off Banjima Drive and is open 9am to 4pm (April to October) and 10am to 2pm (November to March).
National Park Passes
Don’t forget that RAC members save 50% on National Park Passes, when you book online. To enter and stay in Karijini National Park you require a national park pass per vehicle.
Best time to visit
The ideal times to experience Karijini are late autumn, winter and early spring.
Driving
Karijini National Park is approximately 1400km north of Perth and about 80kms from Tom Price. You can enter Karijini National Park from Tom Price, Roebourne, Port Hedland or Newman.

Accommodation
It is highly recommended to book in advance as peak season is very popular as is event attendance. Basic campingis available in the Department of Parks and Wildlife camping grounds. Karijini Eco Retreat offers camping and contained accommodation options.
