RAC Roadside Assistance Patrol Mark Dring said from June 2018 to June 2019, RAC patrols attended almost 4,500 breakdowns in Canning Vale, more than anywhere else in Perth.
“The most common reasons for call outs include engine failure, battery and tyre issues and lock outs,” Mr Dring said.
“The best way to avoid a breakdown is regular servicing and a bit of at home car maintenance in between.
“Pop the bonnet every so often to check your oil, water and coolant levels, and make use of the tyre pressure facilities at your local petrol station.
“Keep an eye out for signs of corrosion around the car battery terminals and check for cracking, deterioration or oil contamination around the fanbelts.
